Dialogue Hub is hiring part of the Kickstart Scheme

Dialogue Hub is a critical exchange platform for creatives and local talent to showcase their work to the public. It is a multi-purpose space that hosts a British Sign Language Coffee shop, an immersive experience and artist residency program as well as regular events and workshops. At its core, the Dialogue Hub concept is about ‘giving back’ to the local community through partnerships with the London Borough of Lambeth.

  • Reports to: Managing Director

  • Terms: London MNW / 25 hours

Purpose of post

The Marketing and Administration Assistant undertakes day-to-day administrative and marketing duties and co-ordinates a wide range of company activities working closely with the Managing Director.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing

  • Working closely with the Managing Director to deliver all marketing activity such as creating campaigns, planning and implementing print marketing, market research and email/postal mail outs.

  • Lead on designing and implementing digital marketing including social media – writing and scheduling content, being responsive, finding new opportunities to raise the profile of Dialogue Hub through digital platforms.

  • Lead on maintaining our website using our CMS, ensuring content is up to date and appropriate.

  • Support management of freelance designers, photographers and PR professionals.

  • Write copy and proof marketing and communications content.

  • Support the Managing Director in ensuring effective communication with all Dialogue Hub stakeholders including volunteers and participants

Office Management

  • Manage the company’s information requests via email or telephone.

  • Manage company resources including office equipment and stationery.

  • Support the Managing Director to organise quarterly Board meetings.

IT

  • Oversee the procurement and maintenance of IT and digital systems.

  • Monitoring data protection and security for both digital and in house systems.

  • Maintain digital operational management files in the company shared folders.

Other ad hoc

  • Support or oversee additional core operational projects as appropriate.

  • Attend staff meetings and Board meetings.

  • Take part in relevant training and development.

  • Take part in the staff appraisal process.

Person Specification

You must be aged 18-24 years old, and unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • A good all-round level of education is preferable, but not essential.

  • An interest in arts and culture and/or or charity environment.

  • Some experience or interest in music or drama. Good people skills and ability to work in a team.

  • Able to get on with a variety of people: young people, parents, theatre staff, teachers.

  • An interest in music and/or the arts and working with young people.

  • Adaptable, determined and able to work well under pressure.

  • Confident use of IT and able to work online effectively and responsibly (IDEAL not essential).

  • Able to use Microsoft Office / Google Drive (IDEAL not essential). Good communication (including clear written English) and organisation skills.

  • Enthusiastic and hard-working with excellent attention to detail.

  • Can work independently with some supervision.

*This role is specifically for young people between 18 and 24 years old, currently on universal credit and eligible for Kickstart. All roles will be initially for a period of six months but with the potential for permanent employment at the end.
